meet again...may God hold you softly in the palm of His hand."
The intensity of care to someone is
so high; it makes the reader to dedicate his whole devotion to the person, for
whom it's been written for. It made me realize that there is a deep human need
for optimism towards any future activities. It's suggesting to a beautiful
future. It's a wish that makes people realize that no matter what future appear
to be, the writer or the person who is saying the blessing is always hoping for
the best. And there a string of hope dangling in the word, ‘until we meet
again.’
It’s true that wishes were there
since a long time ago. But it made me think seriously about why should a person
think well of others? I grew up thinking, don’t do evil to others, but thinking
well of others? Are we responsible for that?
Well, we can think whatever we want, it’s a personal choice. It’s just a
moral question about thinking nice of others and deep down we think nice of
others as symbiotic action. We wish others too think nice of us. We do. Everyone
does. Nobody ever wants to be crushed.
It changed me when I realized that the
words were giving meaning about being able to be strong enough to stay alive
for the next encounter. It kept a hope that something is being exchanged and
there is something to return to each other.
There is mention about road, wind,
sun, rain and god.
Road always lead to a destination. The
only choice a man has to make is which path to follow so that it leads to what
he wants. But what is the meaning of road rise to meet you? Don’t we go walk on
the road? It’s focusing on the ‘You.’ It’s focusing on the ability of a person to
know where a person should go. It suggesting when we know where we should go,
the path becomes clear.
Wind, how much hard does wind can be
against you? Well wind in Ireland is quite gentle. It’s suggesting that when
times are hard, even a slightest disturbance can cause a huge damage and a
simple help can save a life.
Sun, well nothing is warmer than a
sun in a cold region where temperature is nine degree Celsius.
Rain fall, this wish is confusing,
it’s not wishing for more or substantial but it’s wishing for subtle rainfall. It’s
point rainfall as a need, which is harmful when it’s taken heavily and also
harmful when it is ignored.
The next meeting.
There is a wish for the next meeting
and there is request for the god to protect the blessed one until they meet
again. It’s a representation of desire to have people around them fit and fine
so that they could enjoy the youth always, but they have only one chance. It’s
because only a baby is taught to hold hands of parents. Adult give hands to
baby so that they can hold.
